You can easily add a built in fingerless glove to any stretch sleeve for a clean performance look.

Step 1: Extend the Sleeve

Extend the sleeve pattern past the wrist to the desired hand length. Most fingerless gloves extend to the base of the fingers or slightly past the knuckles.

Step 2: Shape the Hand

Taper the extension slightly to follow the shape of the hand. Keep enough width for comfort and stretch.

Step 3: Add a Thumb Opening

Mark where the thumb naturally sits. Cut a small horizontal or oval opening. Reinforce the opening with a narrow zigzag stitch or stretch binding.

Step 4: Hem the Edge

Finish the edge at the finger opening with a zigzag stitch, twin needle, or elastic finish to maintain stretch.

Always test the fit with scrap stretch fabric before cutting your final garment. The stretch percentage will affect how tight the glove feels around the wrist and hand.

This method works best with four way stretch fabrics for comfort and mobility.
